October is Indigenous Peoples Month. Our featured guests from Mindoro have just taken part in two summits, where the needs and aspirations of the Mangyan indigenous communities were discussed and presented to the provincial government and other stakeholders. AHOP AGATE is the indigenous peoples mandatory representative in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Oriental Mindoro. METH JIMENEZ is working with the provincial LGU’s program to insure that there is zero illiteracy among the Mangyan communities.
